What is a taxi driver medical?
This is a medical assessment which all taxi/ private hire car drivers must pass before being granted their license to operate. The tests are carried out to ensure that taxi drivers are in good enough health to safely drive a private hire vehicle on public roads.
What does the taxi driver medical include?
The medical examination consists of an eyesight test, blood pressure checks to ensure your BP meets council criteria and a questionnaire regarding your medical history. Our doctor will review your medical records in line with council requirements, some councils require full medical records while others simply require a summary. The duration of the visit should take no longer than 30 minutes.

What do I need to bring to the appointment?
Please bring:
- Taxi Medical Form
- Photo ID
- Your driving glasses/contact lenses & prescription
- Details of any ongoing medical conditions plus any medication you are taking
- Medical records if you suffer from any preexisting medical condition
